TENDER MERCIES

Hey everybody! I am trying to get better about repenting and writing emails so work with me a little bit.

This week has been full of ups and downs. The beginning of the week started out kind of bad with Elder Keck passing away.  As you probably know, Elder Keck and Elder Thompson from my mission were in a terrible car accident last week.  It has been hard for a lot of missionaries and has been hard for me to accept it. I know that he and his family are being watched over and that he has people to teach on the other side. It has also been cool to see all the tender mercies of the Lord and his hand in helping people recover. There have been miracles like Elder Keck seeing his mom when she came up for his Grandma's birthday and family members getting across the border even though they had expired passports. There also was a Seventy that was scheduled to come to our mission which happened to be right after the car accident so he helped the Mission President and the Missionaries.

This week on Thursday we all flew down to Vancouver on an hour long flight and then to Victoria on an 11 minute flight. The weather in Victoria was really awesome and warm. I got to see my trainer Elder Pereira and go on splits with him that night. The next day we had Zone Conference and it was super awesome, Elder Whiting was there and he taught us a lot. He was funny and got his point across. Then we flew back to Prince George.

On Saturday we helped out with the Food Drive in Vanderhoof and it was good to help and get our names and faces out in the community. Then we taught a family from Jamaica. This week has been good and I appreciate all the support from you all. Have a good week! -Elder Starkie
